The radio stations are trash

After listening to a slew of songs by Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and that We Are chick on the radio, I feel compelled to get a knife and kill myself.

I can not wait for Madonna to make a new album. Unlike The Spice Girls, Ciara or Britney Spears these chicks do not know the importance of hope, dreams, dance and joy in music. I used to love the music of Rihanna and Black Eyed Peas' debut on the Legally Blonde soundtrack when both first came out, but the stuff they're putting out is just trash. The radio is trash. Depressing, suicide inducing trash.

Go around the 80-100 on the itunes charts and check some gems out. The radio is controlled by coporate MFckers who want to bring the people down with some of the most depressing songs to come out ever. Every decade had its style-- the 30's, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s... but the year 2010 has had the most hideous songs to come out and end up on top of the charts. It's no wonder we are a country where children are becoming more obese and unhealthy. We have nothing to dance to.

I am so tired of the people who produce concert shows. I was on hulu watching a Beyonce concert and they panned to the audience more than Beyonce. Irritating. Too many hip movements, too many orchestral hits. What the hell! And too many audience. Yeah... we get it. She has fans. I don't wanna see em.

Love Madonna and Janet Jackson for bringing awareness to bullying and homophobia in schools. Great episode of Glee too. This is what Madonna had to say about bullying:

Wow! What a beautiful city. Stayed at Hyatt Hotel, near the convention center and it was quite an experience. Sorry I couldn't be there at the table on Saturday. I was out making connections with fellow artists. Chris and Lily did an amazing job putting the word out on our comics.

Next time, Imma gonna pack me some food and a microwave oven. I ain't paying $15 for fried eggs. There wasn't any Subway or Mickey Ds to be found.

FYI for the reporters who interviewed Chris. He was not Allan Angel. I wasn't at the table at all that day except for around 4:00 pm. until the end. Peace and see you all at the Bakersfield con November 14th.

Alternative Press Expo (APE Oct. 16-17th

What can I say? Another good run on a somewhat dubious circumstances at Alternative Press Expo. Sold out on Htown #1 and Superhood like crazy.

I don't like to BS or put anybody down, but there are reasons that this Alternative Press Expo was not enjoyable. I will explain on future posts, but we will attend only the Saturday show next year. Thanks to all the fans who went and supported us. Peace!

This is the toughest Con I went. The journey as usual is always complicated and shocking to say the least and my spirits were at all time low. It was lifted by the amount of people buying my comics and for that I thank you! If it weren't for your support for true small publishers and artists such as myself, I wouldn't be doing what I doing. Comics Rule! Super Heroes Rule!

Next is Long Beach and Bakersfield-- where true comic book fans live. Peace!

Creepy Kofy TV20

So my family watched the segment and were really impressed. Just so you know, the people behind the scenes are really amazing.

The Last Gasp that was shown in Creepy Kofy are not working yet. It should be fixed in a week.

We will be attending the Alternative Press Expo or APE this October 16 and 17th. Please visit our table and support independent publishers. Check out the artwork, because they have to be seen in person to be believed. We will be also at the Long Beach Comicon on October 29-31th. A model will be at the table on Saturday. Her name's Lily. I will be making an appearance sometimes around noon for those who want to meet with the artist.

The Sac Horror Con was one of the best cons in Sac we've ever had. For the first time, people were actually buying our comics and posters. Unfortunately, we had a table next to some freak with an attitude. The Sac Horror was in a way a Horror movie for me, Chris and Steven. My car broke down and so I had to use my truck. And when we got home, I found out somebody put a nail on its right tire. Thank you jealous man in the table next to us.

Creepy Kofy TV 20 San Francisco Oct. 2, 2010

Extremely nervous about being at Creepy Kofy on tv 20 to promote Superhood with Age and Chris. But it's done and I hope I didn't make too much of a fool of myself. I only said 3 lines.

I was so hungry the entire time. Couldn't eat the entire week thinking about it and I was at the dance studio all morning to take my niece to her Hip Hop lessons and Ballet lessons. The people behind this show are the nicest people I've meet. I hope you tune in October 2, 2010 to see a little glimpse of the hard work me, Age and Chris have put out.

My niece Victoria started her first day of Hip Hop and Ballet today since she was 5 years old. It was amazing to see the kids, teens, adults in dance classes. Dance should be a required subject in school. It lifts the spirit like nothing else.

After that I went to my brother in law's company picnic and it was in such a weird place. This tech like building in Fremont that was reminiscent of some hawaiian resort and this I forgot this fat kids song called Beautiful Girls was blasting in the background. This is the most dangerous song ever made. It's revolting. And people were singing along to it.

One of the lyrics was about going suicidal, suicidal...

Stupid ass song. That's truly a bad message to be sending out to people and not just kids. Dance and Sing get up and do your thing! PEACE and LOVE!

I am almost done with Htown. It's stunning. It's a 36 page very commercial piece of work about genetically engineered Super Heroes. I've always felt proud about this comic and I was surprised by Chris' (Perguidi) colors. I think years of reading comics have made him an expert at color and costumes. I'm pushing to get it out by APE which is this October in San Francisco.

I am also working on the painted pages of Baby Warriors with Steven Reece. It was co created by my niece Alanah Knapp and the concept to me has so much potential for commercial success that I want to put my best into making sure the art looks amazing.

Last but, surely not least, is Superhood with Age Scott for AGEART Productions. Please, Please support us by visiting us at our booth in APE (Alternative Press Expo) on October 16 and 17, Long Beach Comic Con on October 29-31, and Wonder Con.

Was at a taping Creepy Kofy Movie time in Channel 20 last Saturday with pal Age. I was hoping for a shoutout of my comics, esp. Superhood. Didn't happen, but we met some really cool and nice people. I got to thank Mel Smith for this experience and Age for sitting through it. Not many people can take what I can take.

Taping a show has got to be the most boring thing I have seen. I do my own shorts but I don't take more than 2 takes to do stuff. The stars had to be up and energized for I don't know how long, filming 3 shows in a row.

I think we could've gotten a shoutout of some sort, if we didn't have to go to the Cow Palace for a tattoo con that Brandon from www.bracamonster.com is going. Great artist. Hope he'll ink me on future issues of Superhood. Peace!

Breakdancers used to blast Madonna's music at McCollam Elementary which is behind our backyard right around 1982. That's how I sort of got introduced to Madonna's music even before the images of her.

I sort of owe my life to Madonna, because she made my childhood, as sad as it was with all the crazies that entered my life, a lot happier. When radio wasn't controlled by corporates and was controlled by the people (old and young), her music captured the imagination. It wasn't just pop songs, it was a movie that lit up your imagination. Coupled with her images in Music videos or her iconic role as Susan, it's nothing I've seen since. And I was this kid that loved movies from Dietrich to Bronson. From Maude to any action movie I can find when CGI(?) didn't exist.

Her songs wasn't something that was forced into you. You had to play it because it ruled!! Happy Birthday Madonna!!! The true King and Queen of Pop.

San Jose Toy Show was just amazing. It started out not so great. Steven lost his cell phone, so he couldn't get my text messages to wake up. I was running late so I drove to the Toy Show (By myself!!) did the set up (by myself!!), only to be in somewhat confused because somebody put their stuff on our table.

It didn't start off well, but it ended amazing. My team came in and we were awesome! Fantastic day. Great people behind the scenes and out. Gonna rest. Missed my niece's birthday. Went to Fry's to look for a mic cable for the Toy Show and couldn't find anything. I rushed out and some lady was calling an Asian guy racial slurs. I was shocked at how ugly this lady sounded. And embarrassed. She sounded like an eight year old and at the same time sounded dated or cliche. The stuff she said could've been said in the 80's. It's like somebody saying that looks groovy or Fresh. It was just embarrassing. Stupid. Ignorance is not Bliss.

However sucky your life is, please do not use racial slurs or any kind of hate. They will bite you in the end.

Watch Kick Ass. It truly is one of the best comic book movie ever. 4 stars! I was wrong. Step Up 3d goes to second. Kick Ass 2! Kick Ass 2!

Wasn't too impressed by the result of Work of Art. I still think John Parot should've been in the top 3. With the exception of Perigrine, I was bored by Miles and Abdi. I just don't get art I guess.

I am currently working on the Cover for Htown. Chris has a great idea for it. I'm lining some artists to do some Baby Warriors pin ups and Superhood is near complete.

I'm really excited to get this musical I'm writing the plot and music for. I'm trying to make some connects in this area. How to go about starting a musical and how to get investors interested in it. I love to write music. Art is great but it drains me.

Now that I'm done with the main drawings sans cover for Htown, I can let myself go a little bit. Drawing is a tough job. For me anyways. It's not fun at all, but it is necessary. I've yet to understand why it is necessary, but it is something that I must do.

My body aches quite a bit. I've been pulling weeds and cleaning up a big backyard today. Peace and most of all Love!

Step Up 3d was soooo gooood. Damn! I envy dancers who can dance like that. I kept thinking the lead actress was the same actress from the last movie but my nieces assured me that it wasn't her.

I've watched this since the beginning and each movie has blown me away with its music and dances. I can't wait for four. Go see it!

I finally finished Superhood. It is amazing! Very challenging but worth it. My harddrive for my macbook is dead so I'm working off an external harddrive. I'll post updates as soon as I get the okay from Age.

Next on the list is the cover for Htown and Baby Warriors. I'll be working with Steven Reece on Baby Warriors. It's a very ambitious project. Working with media I'm not comfortable with. But that's the way I like it.

Catching up on some movies. Two movies I really loved watching this weekend are dumb and entertaining. One is Cop Out and the other is Clash of the Titans. These movies remind me of the 80s. They're dumb, simple and fun. I enjoyed Clash of the Titans better though.

The sheer stupidity of Cop Out is what made it so damn entertaining to me. Kevin Smith is an amazing director. So stupid... it's fun.

Clash of the Titans was so much fun to watch. The narrative reminded me of how I wrote Baby Warriors. Even the movement of the warriors reminded me of how I designed the Baby Warriors.

I rented another dumb ass movie called Bounty Hunter with Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston and again I was entertained. I don't get critics and I am loving it that directors continue to make movies that piss them off. Not that I have anything against highly critically acclaimed movies but there should be a place for movies like Just You and Me Kid with Brooke Shields and George Burns or crime caper movies featuring more mature actresses like Ruth Gordon or Eileen Brennan, or the late Madeline Kahn(Clue).

I am getting so tired of this youngsters getting all the movie roles. I long for the days of Astaire and Ruth Gordon. Where everyone old and young get to be represented on screen. We all have a place in this world. Even bad, stupid movies that entertain. Or somebody 20 or older. Get what I'm saying?

Me and Age have created or worked on something amazing. And that is Superhood. I am working on the cover every second. Going through it again and again to do his story justice.

I feel so fortunate to work in this project and I'm in for the second, third part or however many Superhood there will be. Well.... just as long as it's as good as this.

And props to Alter Ego for putting my book in their store. Iowa rules!!

First off, I would like to thank Mel, Chris and Steven for an incredible Sunday at Comicon. Being at the table with people enthusiastically buying and spitting compliments made up for the fact that the venue was too small for this event.

San Diego Comic Con was just crazy. Seriously, they need to move the con in the Bay Area. San Diego is just too small for it. Too small that one irate guest stabbed another in the eye because another guest was sitting too close to him. Their cheese enchiladas are good though. Yummy!

People at work keep asking me about my drawings and my projects and rather than speaking like a robot I give them a flyer/postcard which has my website so that everything they need to know they would have access too. I am into all kinds of stuff, I can't explain what's happening with my art.

I was just watching Work of Art. I have a hard time watching it. I keep wanting to make a fist and letting Miles have it. He's so fake. I've seen his art somewhere before. And the judges, except for the host, are so full of it. Smug. No wonder they like Miles so much.

The real artist was John Parot. His Time Machine stood out. I think any artwork from any artist including John after that would have just gone downhill. It was so good. Jamie Lynn was also one of my favorites. Of the artists remaining, I'm rooting for everyone except Miles. He's acting is bad too. Irritating. How bad is his art? Can you even call it art?

My new love is Jamba Juice. They have the best protein shake imaginable. And although I have an allergy as I type this blog, they keep me from getting allergies. Don't buy their vegetarian sandwiches though. It's worse than eating paper. It's so bad, I felt like I made it myself. It's even worse than Grease 2. or Breakin' 2 Electric Boogalo.

Speaking of which, Countdown to Step it UP 3D. The only movie I'm waiting for. It is the worst summer in movies. Ever! I don't even know where to start.

I'm computer savvy but I always have a hard time with this myspace, facebook, stuff. I realize now how important they are. They keep you in touch with people you haven't talked to or seen in a while.

I think I was inspired to do a blog by that movie about Julia Child. It's an interesting process. It's like diary. I hope to be able to read this a year from now.

I'm not too mad or even hardly upset at my miniatures being destroyed anymore. I learned a great lesson from it. I'll write a book someday about what I've learned. Not on this blog. If something you really work hard on breaks, move on. That's one of them, but it's not what kept me from being angry. That's the part that's going to be in the book.

Still angry or probably more angry. But I can't change what's happened. I try not to think about it or still try to understand the big picture, but the big picture is my buildings are destroyed.

I did, however, pencil a great poster of Superhood 1. I will meet up with Age tomorrow for his feedback.

So for the past 6 months, me and a friend were working on some buildings, because I felt stuff in Autodesk Maya were just way too fake to be real. I want the authenticity of Star Wars battleships, so I put together about 500 dollars in materials plus labor to do this project. What my friend did was amazing. It was better than what I expected and it would have been another star on my 'stellar' record as an innovator.

My mom came back from the Philippines(she divides her time between here and the states) and the moment she saw it she smashed the buildings into pieces and stuck it in the recycling bin. This according to my sister and she, like me, doesn't lie. We made three different buildings. A clocktower, an Htown like prison building and another Htown like building. Plus the streets it's built on. (choking up! It's so unbelievable!) Unbelievable.... Unbelievable. All that Work!!! For nothing...

My secret weapon on the comic book world.

I'm sort of holding back the tears as I'm blogging this down. My life is sort of crap. So I take solace in my art and music and I was investing in this to put into my about page. It's around my birthday and I was hoping that for once it would be a happy one.

Everything bad always happens around my birthday. People have tried to kill me on my birthday, left me, see really bad things happen around my birthday. Fuck it. It's just my destiny to have a crummy ass birthday. I usually take 3 doses of nyquil and sleep for 2 straight days until my birthday's over, but I'm gonna be going to the San Diego con on Sunday the 25th, a day before my birthday. Ironically, I actually love getting old.

I'm already preparing to die going to this trip. I think it would be the icing on the cake hitting the big 40. You know what I mean?

You try and try to figure out what would lead someone to destroy these buildings. I mean these aren't amateur made. It looked stellar. I mean people don't do these anymore. A great representation of hand made art that surpasses the power of Maya software. Now, nobody's gonna see it. I try to get away from thinking it, but it lingers and I just keep asking myself why?

The clocktower survived, because it's got a big clock on it. And I'll be using that instead. But it's not anywhere the vision or what it once was. Happy Birthday. They should just change that to Sad Birthday. This is the last straw. I'm just going to succumb to the idea that I was never meant to have a Happy Birthday.

It's a slow day in music, when I'm looking at Oracle's KMEL lineup for concerts to go to. Not too excited over Lady Gaga's concert either. I think some of her music's great or one of them is and her attitude is refreshing. But I like it old school pop with dancing I can relate to like Madonna in any of her concerts, Sporty Spice of the Spice Girls or Alanis Morissette filling the concert with her energetic performances and getting fat guys to rock with her on You Oughta Know. Or Madonna's sweat falling on your face as she makes her way through her elevated catwalks like in the Re-invention tour. The Spice Girls with Holler directed by Jamie King. There hasn't been one concert I wanted to go to since the Sweet and Sticky Tour about 2 years ago.

I singled out Lady Gaga because some of my fellow small publishers were blasting her music in front of my table which has Madonna's portraits all over it. I guess to get a rise out of me, because people are buying my stuff and not theirs. I'm not upset in any way. I just feel people who are listening to her now are out of touch with what's happening. I was listening to her first record the very first week it came out. So it's old to me now. Madonna's Borderline is like 25 years old and it beats anything out there. And she's got 50 songs like that.

I listened to her second album and was incredibly disappointed. Poker Face is the same as one of the hits in the second one.

Why Madonna, Spice Girls or Alanis. Because they relate to the young and old. And the media would know that if they actually could afford to go these concerts. And they astonish with actual dancing.

Keep on doing art.

Art can be anything. Today, I am going to start going back into photography. It was a mess. I'm trying to find a logical way of organizing my stuff, but I end up going through them one by one anyways. Forgetting where I put what. The life of an artist/writer/photographer/etc., is a messy one. It's not easy.

I want to log this down, because it was an interesting conversation I had with a friend about suicide. I'm not down into suicide, but he made a valid point about people making judgments about people who want to kill themselves or people who perform euthanasia(?).

Everytime I think of suicide I think about what Michele Pfeifer's Catwoman said about life being a bitch and so am I. But then Catwoman had legs, my friend didn't have one.

Can't sleep. My ideas are overwhelming me. So many things I want to do with my art. Superhood Looking good, so does Htown. Will be meeting up with Steven tomorrow about the plan for Baby Warriors. And there's so many more things I want to do with the character of Piggy in the Invincibles portion of Lost Legends and costume designs for Winterland.

Then I've got music and documentary promos to post on youtube. I'm looking for inkers.
